{From 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18}: Part 3
My last lingering thoughts on 1 Thessalonians from that morning last week have been itching to reach the blog. Hopefully, you've been anticipating it as much as I have!
After re-reading these verses, I see that we are not only called to rejoice, pray, and give thanks; this verse hints at a new mindset.
One of my all time favorite books of the Bible is Ephesians. Ephesians 4:21-24 agrees that when we live as a Child of the Light, our thoughts and attitudes change and are renewed.
I love that! May we put on a new nature that comes from God; rejoicing, praying and giving thanks as we commune with the One who Changes Us. Jesus changes us. I am convinced that is his specialty.
From grumpy to rejoicing
From under-prayed to overflowing with prayer
From ungrateful to graciously uplifting...
As you and I move into a place, a secret place where Heaven meets with Earth- where the Holy Spirit of the God of Heaven indwells our earthly bodies, may we be encouraged to throw off our sinful nature and former way of life! Let Jesus come in, open us up, and wash out the lust and deception with His cleansing, renewing, life-giving blood. And as we are moved from wretched to truly righteous and holy by the Great Work of God Himself, let us rejoice! Let us Praise! Let us tremble and quake with gratitude as the magnitude of it all overwhelms our being.
I hope these thoughts either challenged you, gave you some more perspective, or even just helped you to take some moments to shift your mindset on Him today.
Thank you for reading today's post!
Until Next Time,
Melly XOXOX
P.S. If I could wrap a hug of blessing over each of my readers RIGHT NOW, I totally would! For now, you'll just have to know that I am praying for a hug of blessing from above for y'all. #BeBlessed

Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God- truly righteous and holy. {Ephesians 4:21-24}
