Live By Kindness
Kindness.
What a word.
It has been a word that I am increasingly wanting to LIVE by.
As a Fruit of the Spirit, it brings a sweetness to our life. I was thinking, in real life, fruits give our bodies energy to DO something...
What does the fruit of kindness stir you to do?
In church this past Sunday, we talked about the urgency of inviting others to experience Jesus with us in this life. The pastor said a phrase that stuck out to me: urgency understands that there is opposition... but it presses through opposition. Our comfort zone does not push through opposition.
MY. GOODNESS.
My conclusion is that kindness, in particular, energizes us to travel outside of our comfort zone for others' benefit. Jesus alone saves. If we all fall short of the glory of God, and are naturally in a state of separation from Him and His eternal goodness, then keeping the Good News of Christ away from those who don't have it is the farthest thing from kindness. Kindness disregards the awkward conversations and speaks anyway. Kindness, in all of her inconvenience, is one of the crucial tools that shows us the heart of God. The heart of God invites us, and invites us to invite others.
My prayer today and this week for you (and myself!) is that your kindness would exceed your own comfort zone.
Jesus, please help us to live our lives in a way that benefits more than just ourselves. May your kindness expand in us, and may it push way past our comfort zone. May kindness reach out to save people today, just as it has been since you first died on the cross.
A burst of kindness mixed with courage can open a conversation that draws someone else's heart closer to God. And isn't that the point? To know and love God and share that awesomeness with others!
Be blessed!!!!
Until next time,
Mel XOXOXO

I love reading your blog. I am inspired each time I read it. You are one of the kindest people I know and I hope that I can be like you. When I watched the service online like I said you came to mind so many times because I can see your love for people and reaching them. Kindness comes natural to some people and it is for you. I cannot wait to hear how many people you will reach and the impact you will have in Bolivia. I am so glad to be a part of your life and watch you serve the Lord in all areas of your life. Your very special.
