Chip & Joanna Gaines
I just listened to the audio book for Chip & Joanna Gaines.
Wow!
If you don't already know, they are a couple who have a show on HGTV called "Fixer Upper." My family LOVES the show, and loves them- and with good reason.
They are just a Christian couple in Waco, Texas, and they use their entrepreneurial and designer talents to flip houses for couples and families in the Waco area. They genuinely want to bless families with their dream home and the show is full of their goofiness. It also showcases bits of their life with their four kiddos- which is precious because they just love their family so so much!
I didn't know what to expect from the audiobook.
All I knew is that I had to drive halfway across the country and I was running out of music and only in Texas (heading to California).
Their story blesses me immensely.
First of all, I am a dreamer. I desire to inspire others and bless them, and give my God the glory I believe He is due. I mean, God has done so much for me!
Throughout the book, it is evident to see that God has played a major role in their highs and lows. The dreams they had- like starting a farm with chickens and opening a home goods store- came to fruition after a long road of faithfulness, complete with bumps in the road like near bankruptcy and insurmountable debt while trying to raise a family of six.
Yet the Gaines' pursued doing the right thing even as compromise presented itself. They pursued seeking God in the middle of it all, allowing Him to shape their hearts to become even better people in the midst of difficult circumstances.
All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend the book. I hope the read (or listen) inspires you to hold fast to your dreams and hold even tighter to our God and King who is so good to be good to us.
