Victorious Spiritual Warfare

I believe each day we experience spiritual warfare.

But not just in the way we usually hear about it. Yes, we are called to put on the full armor of God and stand firm, just like it says in Ephesians 6:10-18. (You can read it in the text by clicking the link, or the passage below. I have the verse in the NIV below. :) )

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God,so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvationand the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

We have this battle of the dark and the light. And we are called to put on the full armor of God. Not only do we have this armor, but we have the SAME POWER that raised Jesus from the dead living in us. (Uh- raising someone from the dead seems pretty powerful... So we have power of life and death, and armor to fight a real we cannot even see?!??! Whoa...) Furthermore, in this whole Spiritual warfare thing, WE HAVE VICTORY. (Romans 8:11)

Our Spiritual battle consists of victory. Daily victory. Supernatural victory.

Claim it! Own it! Rejoice in it! Don't settle for anything less than victories on your horizon.

Even though God gives us victory, it is not always delivered in the way we expect; often times we struggle and fight and don't feel very victorious. But may our victories be paired with a distinct closeness to God, the faith to believe that He works all things for the good of those who love Him, and the understanding that His ways are higher than our own ways. May we see victory as He does, and may we be patient as God works in us and through us.

Live trustingly in the palms of the Omniscient God Almighty whom we serve. Be brave, drink tea, and remember that spiritual warfare isn't all hardship and struggle, though it is part of the process. Spiritual warfare is also having victory over all power and dominion through Christ Jesus.

XO,
Melissa
