Capsule of Promise

Post Graduation:

Well I have done it! I am a college graduate!!!

I am so excited to have had a wonderful 4 years at Evangel University. It has been a rich time of growth and safety, as well as of learning (that's an obvious one), and of hope.

I came into Evangel knowing that it would be a 'spiritual incubator' of sorts. This has been proven true! God has grown me in incredible ways.

A week ago, I had breakfast in the cafeteria with my friend Macey. We were talking and I shared with her the picture of the past four years being my spiritual incubator, and told her, "Wow, and now we are exiting it!" I paused for a moment and then looked at her. I took a deep, grateful breath and remembered what God had whispered to me in my quiet morning moment just a day before. He gave me a picture of a capsule. This capsule is what I am now calling a capsule of promise.

There have been countless, innumerable moments on my campus and even in the homes of church leaders, mentors, and friends during my past four years of prophetic prayers, soulful encouragements, and conversations that woke dreams that God placed in me when I was a little girl. Things were stirred inside of me, like a seed that is beginning to grow from its dormant shell. Truths planted that began to take root and wrap around my soul to strengthen the call of God's goodness and kindness and truth to this world that needs it!

So while this is such a bittersweet time, filled with a lot of sudden goodbyes and hopeful see-you-later's, I am coming away with this capsule of promise. I am confident in the goodness of God to pull out one treasure after another from this capsule, season after season. Each thing will have an allotted joy and a time to celebrate, and I cannot wait to watch God continue this faithfulness.

What's neat is that I have no idea what I am doing right away- but my next step is to move back West- at least for now! (More on that later... stay tuned!)

Until then, I am grabbing a cup of joe and hitting the road. My car is packed and I am heading to Wichita, Kansas, to spend the night at my friend Brittany's house, and then on to Colorado for a week!

Thank you all for reading and coming along for the ride~ we are seriously JUST getting started!

To God be the Glory,
Melissa Rivera
