Surely Unsure

“I’ve never been so sure of being unsure.”
I have found myself repeating this phrase the past few days. As of Thursday last week, my plans made a major 180-degree shift! I was planning on staying here in Springfield, Missouri, for the summer and beyond, but at just the last second (literally the day before graduation), everything unraveled. Housing. Job. Most of the variables I perceived to be constant.

I could be upset right now. I felt terrified but I also had this incredible surge of courage; there is something stirring in me with the excitement of a new spin on life, and adventure where I am heading into something great- not because of some glorious destination (since I don’t know where I am going exactly...) but because I have this confidence coming deep from my soul that I’m lacing up my shoes to begin walking on a sweet journey wherever God leads me. For you logic people- don’t worry. It doesn’t make much sense to me either. But to my faith friends- some of you know what I’m talking about. I’m talking about moving on a “maybe.” I’m driving west with no destination, hoping I find what I’m looking for along the way, but sure that God is going to do something within me through this wandering/searching process. Never, ever have I done anything like this before! But the past 4.5 years I have had this truth cemented to my spirit and soul: God is faithful & good; He is with me WHEREVER I go. I don’t expect easy, but I am excited to meet God in new ways and to see Him in new lights as I journey on. I’m in this for the long haul, and I have never been so sure about being unsure of what’s next. What I do know is that I am in the middle of God’s will today. I do know that this looks different than I expected...

I share this because there is POWER in our testimony, when shared to lift His name on high. I share this to encourage others to discern and fully live out your life to discover your purpose and passion- even if it looks messy! May we step with wisdom, courage, integrity & faith💃🏻

XOXO,
Mel

P.S. Here is a video I made about the journey so far! Out of College!
