Learning to Move On, little by little...
I had a decision to make this year.
Well, okay, I didn't have only ONE decision this whole year haha... that'd be ridiculous! But I had to decide if I was going to play lacrosse for my final year of High School. Sometimes these small choices in life, they seem so big. I am a do-er and want to do it ALL. Which, may I mention, is not realistic nor is it healthy. So I was praying about this decision. As always, God was faithful to show me what He wanted from me, and looking back, I now see that He knew what the future months would hold. Had I done it my own way, I would have had so much unnecessary stress and crankiness. God knows us better than we know ourselves and he knows what our future holds. We just have to let him in, even in the smallest decisions of our everyday lives. And he will bless us, and be glorified.
Here is an excerpt from my journal one day, regarding this decision to play or not to play lacrosse:
When Paul saw that he was no longer effective, he did not stay in his tribulation, but he fled elsewhere. Then, he could be effective. Perhaps lacrosse was like that. I had a season; now, the trials are relatively fruitless and God has enabled me to do other tasks.
It's time to move on. Besides, my motives for doing lax were rather vain. I need to surrender and Give God the time of my life. It's yours Jesus, I'm all yours.
Thank you for speaking lord.
Thank you for giving me wisdom (James 1:5)
Surrendering every aspect of our life to Christ. That's picking up our cross and following him in real time.
May he enable you and give you strength and courage to abandon yourself to follow Him; we're in this together!
